What is Myopia Management?
In the past, a myopic patient gets a new pair of glasses every year their eyes worsen. However, we now have methods of managing the myopia through eye exercises, multifocal contact lenses, progressive and bifocal glasses, atropine eye drops, and ortho-keratology. The most effective way of managing myopia is to treat a patient early on with one of the above methods. Some patients are more susceptible to increased myopia due to their family history and would benefit from early methodical planning. If you are interested in learning more about myopia treatment, schedule an appointment with Dr. Ly to discuss which is the best method to help slow down yours or your loved ones nearsightedness.
